DR JONATHAN MERVIS
PAEDIATRIC CARDIOLOGIST

Jonathan completed his General Paediatric training at Red Cross Children’s Hospital in Cape Town, South Africa before training as a Paediatric Cardiologist at Starship Children’s Hospital in Auckland New Zealand. He then completed further training in general paediatric cardiology and sub-speciality training in Interventional cardiology (“Keyhole” surgery) in London UK.

Jonathan did a Fellowship at The Heart Hospital UCL London in Adult Structural Intervention followed by a Fellowship in Paediatric Intervention at The Royal Brompton hospital London. He stayed on at The Brompton as a Locum Consultant before relocating to Sydney in 2014 taking a position as a paediatric interventional cardiologist.

Jonathan is employed as a Senior Staff Specialist in the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network, and works at both Sydney Children’s Hospital at Randwick, and the Children’s Hospital at Westmead. He is involved in training at all levels from medical students, nursing staff, junior medical staff and specialists in training.  In addition to general paediatric cardiology, Jonathan is one of 3 Paediatric interventional Cardiologists in NSW and is the current Lead interventional cardiologist in The Sydney Children’s Hospital Network. Jonathan will be consulting predominantly from Rooms in Bondi Junction.
