Dr Karen Proudman, MBBS (Syd) FRACP (Paed), is a consultant neurodevelopmental paediatrician with 25 years of experience in private practice in the eastern suburbs of Sydney. She has interest and expertise in the identification and ongoing management of neurodivergent children and adolescents including autism, ADHD, challenges with learning, and differences in cognitive, emotional and social development.

Karen has been trained to administer standardised assessments such as the ADOS-2, ADI-R and Griffiths III, and she uses online questionnaires to assist in determining the unique set of strengths, weaknesses, abilities and challenges with which her patients present. She has adopted a neuroaffirming approach and offers team-based care for all her patients by communicating and collaborating with the family GP, school teachers, and allied health professionals. Karen is passionate about advocating, nurturing and protecting neurodivergent young people who she encourages to embrace their authentic selves to support development of good self-esteem and mental health.
